2. In order to use GPRS, Internet, WAP, MMS, email and other data services, one needs to set up a phone so that it can communicate with operator’s systems.
3. The number of non subsidized phones, which are not preconfigured, is increasing on the market.
4. Manual configuration is time consuming and problematic for end users. There is technology enabling end users to receive remotely automatic configuration for a phone.

It is a basic need for each mobile operator to have a remote configuration service where clients can order automatic settings for their new phones. It is the only way to efficiently help clients use data services.

Synkia offers its partners a service, where end users can order automatic settings on the web.

It’s really simple. You just choose a phone model and settings to be ordered, enter a phone number and that’s it – settings are sent to a phone.

Synkia over-the-air phone configurator consists of the following parts:

1. Settings generator – WAP, internet, MMS, email and SyncML currently supported.
2. Sms gateway – settings are sent as a set of binary sms’es.
3. User interface – for choosing phone model, settings and phone number. This part is customized according to operator’s requirements.
4. Phone database – we regularly update the database with the newest models. It includes also manual set up descriptions.
5. Control panel - backend web application with logs, statistics and device management.

We take care of the system

Phone configurator can be installed on operator’s servers but it is possible to host it on Synkia servers too. Configurator’s sms gateway can be integrated with partner’s sms centre or Synkia sms gateway can be used.
