Synkia phone backup & restore is a client/server solution that enables the transfer of information between devices and a centralized server. For mobile devices operation is performed wirelessly over GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or WLAN networks. Communication is based on the standardized SyncML protocol which is actively developed by the Open Mobile Alliance. Synkia works with all devices that have SyncML protocol preinstalled in the factory. In addition, it is possible to install third party SyncML software on devices which do not have it preinstalled. Currently over 350 mobile phone models are supported by Synkia. Almost 300 of them - including non-expensive "mainstream" models - have the SyncML protocol preinstalled in the factory.
